Pallet Grades & Quality

What pallet grades do you offer?

We offer Grade A (premium new or like-new condition), Grade B (standard used with minor wear), and Grade C (economy with more visible wear but structurally sound) pallets. Each grade is thoroughly inspected and priced accordingly to meet different budget and quality requirements.

What's the difference between Grade A, B, and C pallets?

Grade A pallets are in excellent condition with no broken boards, minimal staining, and tight fasteners - perfect for retail display or customer-facing applications. Grade B pallets show moderate wear but remain structurally sound and fully functional for standard warehouse use. Grade C pallets have visible wear, possible repairs, and cosmetic imperfections but still meet load capacity requirements - ideal for one-way shipments or bottom-of-stack applications.

How do you inspect pallets for quality?

Every pallet undergoes a multi-point inspection including visual assessment of deck boards and stringers, fastener integrity check, dimension verification, load testing for capacity ratings, and contamination screening. Only pallets meeting our strict standards are assigned their grade classification.

Are your pallets heat-treated for export?

Yes, we offer ISPM 15 compliant heat-treated pallets with proper certification stamps for international shipping. All documentation is provided automatically with your order to ensure smooth customs clearance.

Do you sell new pallets or only used?

We sell both new and used pallets. New pallets are available for customers requiring pristine condition, while our used pallet inventory offers excellent value for cost-conscious buyers. We can help you determine which option best suits your specific needs and budget.

Ordering & Delivery

Do you offer same-day delivery?

Yes, same-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon within the Halifax city limits, subject to inventory availability and delivery schedule. Contact us early in the day to ensure same-day service for urgent needs.

What is your minimum order quantity?

There is no minimum order for local pickup. For delivery, we typically request a minimum of 10 pallets to make transportation economical, though we can accommodate smaller orders for an additional delivery fee. Bulk orders of 100+ pallets receive significant volume discounts.

How far do you deliver?

We deliver throughout Halifax Regional Municipality daily, with regular routes covering all of Nova Scotia. We also service New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island for larger orders (typically 100+ pallets). Long-distance delivery scheduling is flexible to accommodate your timeline.

Can I pick up pallets myself instead of delivery?

Absolutely! Self-pickup is available during business hours Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and Saturday mornings by appointment. Pickup orders often receive priority processing and eliminate delivery fees. Please call ahead to ensure your order is ready when you arrive.

How long does delivery typically take?

Local Halifax deliveries typically occur within 1-2 business days. Same-day delivery is available for urgent orders placed before noon. Regional Nova Scotia deliveries take 2-5 business days depending on location and route scheduling. We'll provide a specific delivery window when you place your order.

Do you deliver outside regular business hours?

Yes, we can arrange after-hours or weekend deliveries for an additional fee, particularly for businesses that cannot accept deliveries during standard hours. This is common for retail locations, food service operations, and manufacturing facilities with shift schedules. Contact us to arrange special delivery times.

Pricing & Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, checks, all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), debit cards, and ACH bank transfers for bulk orders. Established commercial customers can apply for Net 30 payment terms with credit approval.

Do you offer volume discounts?

Yes, we offer substantial volume discounts starting at 50 pallets, with increasing discounts at 100, 250, and 500+ pallet quantities. Exact pricing depends on grade, size, and current inventory. Contact us for a customized quote based on your specific volume requirements.

How much do pallets cost?

Pricing varies based on grade, size, quantity, wood type, and current market conditions. As a general guideline, Grade C pallets start around $5-8 each, Grade B pallets range $10-18, and Grade A pallets typically cost $20-35. Custom sizes and heat-treated pallets have different pricing. Contact us for current pricing on your specific needs.

Do you charge for delivery?

Local Halifax delivery is free for orders over $200. Smaller orders and distant locations incur delivery fees based on distance and order size. We'll quote all costs upfront with no hidden fees.

Can I get a quote before ordering?

Absolutely! We encourage customers to request quotes before placing orders. Provide us with your specifications (grade, size, quantity, delivery location) and we'll respond with detailed pricing typically within 2 hours during business hours.

Do your prices include taxes?

Prices quoted are before applicable taxes. HST will be added to your final invoice for Canadian customers. Tax-exempt organizations should provide their exemption certificate when ordering.

Buying & Selling Used Pallets

Do you buy used pallets?

Yes! We actively purchase used pallets in any condition - from excellent quality suitable for resale to damaged pallets we'll recycle. We offer fair market prices based on condition, size, and quantity. We provide free pickup for larger quantities within Halifax.

How much will you pay for my used pallets?

Payment depends on pallet condition, size, wood type, and quantity. Premium condition pallets in standard sizes (48x40) can fetch $3-8 each. Standard used pallets might be $1-4 each. Damaged pallets still have value for recycling, typically $0.50-2 each. We evaluate your specific pallets and provide a guaranteed quote before pickup.

What condition pallets do you buy?

We buy pallets in all conditions - excellent, good, fair, poor, and even broken. Premium condition pallets are resold, standard pallets are repaired if needed, and damaged pallets are recycled into mulch or other wood products. Nothing goes to waste in our operation.

Is there a minimum quantity you'll buy?

For local Halifax pickups, we'll buy as few as 5 pallets. For areas outside Halifax, we typically request a minimum of 25-50 pallets to make transportation economical. However, if you have fewer, contact us anyway - we may be able to coordinate with other pickups in your area.

How quickly can you pick up pallets I want to sell?

For Halifax area, we typically schedule pickups within 2-5 business days. If you have large quantities or urgent space needs, we can often arrange next-day or even same-day pickup. We understand that pallets can take up valuable space, so we prioritize prompt pickup service.

Repair & Recycling Services

Do you repair damaged pallets?

Yes, pallet repair is one of our core services. We can repair broken deck boards, damaged stringers, loose fasteners, and structural issues. Repair is often 50-70% less expensive than buying new pallets. We offer on-site repair, pickup/delivery repair, and drop-off services.

How much does pallet repair cost?

Simple repairs (1-3 boards) typically cost $3-8 per pallet. More extensive repairs involving stringers or multiple boards run $5-12 per pallet. We provide honest assessments - if a pallet costs more to repair than replace, we'll recommend replacement instead. Volume discounts apply for 50+ pallets.

Can you recycle pallets I no longer need?

Absolutely! We offer comprehensive pallet recycling services. We pick up unwanted pallets, sort them for potential repair/resale, and recycle the remainder into mulch, animal bedding, or biomass fuel. We provide environmental impact reports for your sustainability documentation. Recycling may be free or we may even pay for good quality pallets.

What happens to recycled pallets?

Recycled pallets are sorted by condition. Repairable pallets are refurbished and resold. Pallets beyond repair are processed: wood is ground into landscape mulch, animal bedding, or biomass fuel for energy generation. Metal fasteners are extracted and sent to metal recycling. We achieve near-zero waste through this process.

Do you provide recycling documentation for sustainability reporting?

Yes! All recycling customers receive weight tickets documenting pounds/tons recycled. We also provide detailed environmental impact reports showing landfill diversion, carbon impact, tree equivalencies, and other metrics. These reports are perfect for ESG reporting, LEED certification, and corporate sustainability initiatives.

Custom & Specialty Pallets

Can you customize pallet sizes?

Yes, we manufacture custom pallets to your exact specifications. Whether you need non-standard dimensions, special load capacities, unique deck board configurations, or specific wood types, our team can design and build pallets perfectly suited to your application. Lead time is typically 1-2 weeks depending on complexity and quantity.

Do you offer specialty pallets like block pallets or four-way entry?

Yes, we stock and manufacture various specialty configurations including block pallets, four-way entry pallets, wing pallets, double-face pallets, and reversible pallets. These specialized designs offer advantages for specific applications like racked storage, automated systems, or unique product dimensions.

Can I get pallets in hardwood or specific wood types?

Yes, we offer pallets in various wood types including oak, maple, pine, spruce, and mixed hardwoods. Hardwood pallets provide superior strength and durability for heavy loads, while softwood pallets offer good value for lighter applications. We can help you select the optimal wood type for your specific requirements.

Do you make pallets for food or pharmaceutical industries?

Yes, we provide food-grade pallets that meet health and safety standards for food industry use. These pallets are made from clean, contaminant-free wood and can include heat treatment for HACCP compliance. For pharmaceutical applications, we can provide documentation of materials and processes to meet regulatory requirements.

Business & Account Management

Do you offer business accounts with recurring orders?

Yes! Many of our customers maintain business accounts with scheduled recurring deliveries. We'll work with you to establish automatic delivery schedules (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly) that match your consumption rate. Business accounts receive preferred pricing, priority scheduling, and simplified invoicing.

Can I set up Net 30 payment terms?

Yes, established commercial customers can apply for Net 30 payment terms. We require a credit application and business references. Once approved, you'll receive monthly invoices for all deliveries and services, simplifying your accounts payable process.

Do you provide quotes for long-term contracts?

Absolutely! We encourage long-term partnerships and offer volume contract pricing for customers committing to specified quantities over 6-12 month periods. Contract pricing provides cost certainty and guaranteed supply availability. Contact us to discuss your long-term pallet needs.

Can you handle multiple delivery locations?

Yes, we regularly service businesses with multiple locations. We can establish corporate accounts with consolidated billing, coordinate deliveries across your various sites, and provide centralized reporting. This is common for retail chains, franchises, and businesses with multiple warehouses.

Quality & Safety

Are your pallets safe for storing food products?

Yes, we offer food-grade pallets specifically designated for food industry use. These pallets are made from clean wood, free from chemical contamination, and can include heat treatment to eliminate pest concerns. We provide documentation to support HACCP compliance and food safety audits.

What is your return policy?

We stand behind our quality. If pallets are defective or do not meet the grade specifications you ordered, we'll replace them or provide a full refund within 7 days of delivery. Simply contact us with photos of any issues and we'll resolve it immediately. Customer satisfaction is our top priority.

Do your pallets meet weight capacity ratings?

Yes, all our pallets are load-tested and rated for specific weight capacities. Standard 48x40 Grade A pallets typically support 2,500-4,600 lbs. Grade B pallets are rated for 2,000-3,500 lbs. Grade C pallets support 1,500-2,500 lbs. We can provide specific load ratings for your application to ensure safety.

Are your pallets treated with chemicals?

Most of our pallets are heat-treated rather than chemically treated. Heat treatment (ISPM 15) uses high temperature to eliminate pests without chemicals, making pallets safe for food and sensitive products. If you require chemical-free pallets specifically, please request this when ordering and we'll ensure proper selection.
